Lumivano is a home electrification sequencing optimizer built by Smart Technology Investments. We solve a simple but expensive problem: most homeowners electrify in the wrong order and leave thousands of dollars in incentives on the table.

The Problem

The Inflation Reduction Act made up to $14,000 in electrification rebates available through the HOMES and HEAR programs. The 30% Investment Tax Credit covers solar and battery storage with no income cap. State programs add thousands more. But the order you install upgrades determines whether you capture all of it — or waste half.

Our Approach

Lumivano ingests data from five federal sources — NREL, DOE, EIA, DSIRE, and HUD — to build a per-household model of available incentives, local utility rates, equipment costs, and climate-adjusted energy savings. Our sequencing engine then computes the optimal upgrade order that minimizes net cost and maximizes 10-year ROI, factoring in equipment dependencies, incentive deadlines, and household budget constraints.

Every number in a Lumivano plan traces back to a federal data source. We do not use averages, estimates, or synthetic data. Utility rates come from EIA. Incentives come from DSIRE and IRS guidance. Equipment costs come from NREL and EnergyStar. Climate zones come from IECC and NOAA. Area Median Income thresholds come from HUD.
